Navigating Special Education can be overwhelming at times, and we hope that this presentation will help you navigate the Child Find process, parental rights and special education law concerning accredited non-public schools.
FIRE Foundation of Northeast Iowa recognizes there is a true need to provide education to parents, administrators, teachers, and service providers on this topic. We encourage all parents, administrators, teachers and service providers view this presentation in order to become a stronger advocate for students who need access to supports and services that attend Accredited Non-Public Schools.

IDEA National Report
This report finds that two states and three school districts around the country for which data are available appear to be out of compliance with provisions of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that require provision of equitable, publicly funded special education services to students in private schools, after a $3.8 million settlement was reached in Massachusetts for failure to comply.
